The Orb Hotel

The Orb Hotel is located in the middle of forest on Eco Park, Quezon City, you’ll find large orbs suspended from the trees. Take the spiral staircase and short suspension bridge leading up to them and enter into the orb to experience nature from a different perspective. The Orb Hotel has 20 rooms that resides in the center of the triangle formed by the 3 trees.  It is made of fiberglass and wood that slung from 5 to 100’ off to the ground. Outside diameter of a fiberglass orb = 3,200mm or 10′6″. The wall thickness of a fiberglass orb is about 3mm. The orb has a set of wooden frames about 18mm or 3/4″ thick added inside to make the finished inside diameter of the orb 3,150mm or 10′4″. Inside the curving walls complete with portholes for windows, space is maximized with fold-out tables and mirrors, curved loft beds and benches, and small appliances

Economic Impact

The economic impact considers the broad contribution of the proposed tourism product that will make to the Philippines more narrowly defined quantified economic growth. Focusing in particular on the employment and revenue. The Orb Hotel alone makes a substantial contribution to the national economy, directly generating an estimated 7,000 full-time equivalent (FTE) jobs and contributing P1.6 million to national Gross Domestic Product (GDP). When the Orb Hotel supports a total of 15,000 FTE jobs, generating over P4.6 million of GDP.7 30. The Orb Hotel is an essential component of this industry.
